Why owning your own cylinder is the best deal on the market today.

Don't be fooled by so called 'Rent Free Deals'  As time goes on the big gas guys are coming to appreciate that continuing to charge rent on their cylinders is causing their customers to look and shop elsewhere. Many of them have introduced new schemes in attempt to keep their customers. Some of these schemes involve a single ongoing charge per year or a large deposit to be returned once you no longer need your cylinder (which is unlikely, oh and don't forget your receipt that you put somewhere 3 years ago!) Don’t be fooled by these deals...at the end of the day you are still paying them for the privilege to use their cylinders. So whilst they may use the term ‘no more rent’ they have swapped rent for another type of payment. These schemes are also only for a small selection of gas types and cylinder sizes rather than their full range. So how is Rent Free Gas different? Well, buy one of our cylinders and that is exactly what you are doing….buying your own cylinder. Aside from the cost of a refill you will never pay another cent for the privilege of owning your own cylinder. We simply swap over your cylinder whenever it is empty. You don’t need to worry about maintaining your cylinder, we do all the hard work for you making sure each cylinder is checked regularly to meet Australian standards. So don’t be confused by some gas deals offering no rental costs, no rent means owning your own cylinder and that is exactly what Rent Free Gas can help you out with today. So give us a call on 0404677187 to have a chat about how we can take the hassle out of buying gas and make sure you get a true rent free deal.

Speedgas Bottles – Outright Cylinder Purchase Made Easy

When Speedgas floated the concept of outright welding bottle ownership over 10 years ago, many in the industry thought they were bonkers. Customers on the other hand, sick of being shafted by the ever increasing rental squeeze welcomed the concept and within a short time, and after much fanfare on the many forums dedicated to welding and engineering projects, the Speedgas brand became part of the tradie vernacular. Over the years Speedgas products have expanded beyond Argon and Argon Mix gases to also include Oxygen, Carbon Dioxide, Nitrogen, Helium, Special Gas Mixtures and those awesome blue go fast cylinders full of Nitrous Oxide. There are now many smaller gas suppliers lurking in the shadows of Speedgas' success but what is it that the Speedgas brand has, or even does, that the others are lacking and thus preventing their own market success? Firstly, it is gas. Sounds simple enough but a gas supply company needs guaranteed and dependable supplies of bulk gas. Customers won't invest a couple of hundred dollars into a gas cylinder if the gas supply is flakey. Speedgas is a bulk gas supplier, that is another way of saying they own their own filling infrastructure and fill from an initial liquid state on site in their two manufacturing facilities based in Sydney. What do Speedgas do that makes them a beacon of shining light and bringer of joy to welders? Speedgas use bulk liquid supply which is vaporised on site then used to fill empty cylinders. Is an approved cylinder testing facility. Have Australian approval and Australian valves. Have been in the welding industry for over 20 years Have invested millions into plant, equipment and a sustainable cylinder refill system So what do the others do that is not the best long term practice? They may decant from G size cylinder packs supplied by the larger gas companies. The very ones that only offer rental cylinders. When the big boys pull the plug, your cylinder is worthless. They may export [...]

Saving money with rent free welding gas bottles

In any market, the debate between renting and owning is a struggle. In the current housing market, economists go back and forth about the wisdom of buying when renting could make just as much or more economic sense. Some refuse to buy a new car when a comfortable lease seems to be a great deal. When it comes to your welding gas cylinders, however, it’s clear sense to buy rather than rent. Whether you’re an enthusiast welder or sourcing materials for your business, owning rent free welding gas bottles will save you money every time. Rent free welding gas cylinders make sense If you’re a regular welder, the expense of renting gas cylinders adds up quickly; if you run a garage or machine shop, the costs can be monumental. While a backyard hobbyist might go through a bottle every month or so, a professional welder can easily go through a bottle in a couple of days. On average, the purchase of a gas bottle is the equivalent of between about one or two years of rental. That may sound like a lot, but considering the life of use you’ll get out of a gas cylinder, the figures speak for themselves. Lifetime savings with rent free bottles Industrial gas cylinders need to be retested every 10 years. At that point, they must be hydrostatically tested before they can legally be refilled. As long as they pass testing at that point, the cylinder is good for another 10 years. This is our cost, not yours. Many gas cylinders, given the proper amount of care and maintenance, last for decades. The value-added aspect of having the cylinders delivered and swapped over as opposed to having to constantly haul and exchange rented cylinders, makes the decision to buy significantly more appealing. Some buyers worry that owning bottles might leave them stranded, if technology or standards change. As you own the cylinder you are free to sell it or have [...]

Rent free welding gas bottles: the benefits

As most who have experience with welding gas bottles will know, rent can quickly start adding up. This is the case whether you’re  using them intermittently or every day. The following reasons are the 3 major benefits to choosing a rent free welding gas bottle for all your metalworking needs. 1. Catering for professionals and the home handyman Renting a welding gas bottle may be a viable option for an amateur metalworker performing one-off projects. However, if your use is consistent, then the benefits start to disappear. With renting, you keep it around for the days you do need it, but the days you don’t you’ll be paying for it anyway. This is a waste of money that could be better spent. By purchasing a rent free welding gas bottle, you’ll pay a one off cost, and apart from re-fills, the days you’re not using it, you won’t pay a cent, leaving you much better off in the long run. 2. Rent free welding gas bottles for different types of gas One week, you’re paying rent on an argon gas cylinder, the next oxygen, then CO2 and helium. At times, if you choose to rent, you’ll find yourself needing multiple types at once, and paying likewise. If you know which cylinders you need, you can purchase them outright. Therefore, on the weeks you need two types, you will have two ready to go, without the complicated processes of returning and renting cylinders on a consistent basis. This will save you ample amounts of time and money, making your metal working experience easier and stress free. 3. Domestic shipping Welding gas bottles can be quite heavy. Many rental places require you, the customer, to pick up and return the goods, or come with ridiculously high shipping costs. By purchasing a welding gas bottle outright, we come to you and we have one price. When your cylinder is empty we come back again, collect the empty and replace it with a [...]

How does a rent free welding gas bottle work?

You’re a welding business that uses a lot of gas, and you’ve been renting your bottles for years. But, with rental prices escalating, you’re now beginning to wonder if there’s a more cost-effective solution. The good news is that you can now buy a rent free welding gas bottle, and save. How does it work? You’ll firstly buy the ideal type of gas cylinder for your needs in a size that is the most economical for your use. Gas cylinder types are varied, but the most common are Argon, Co2, Helium, Nitrogen and Oxygen. Sizes typically range from 20 kilograms up to 95 kilograms in weight. And we also have the C size which is 6 kilograms full of gas. These rent free gas bottles are full at the time of purchase and delivered to your door. Once you’ve used your gas, and you’re nearing the end of your bottle, you’ll then contact your gas supplier and order a refill. Your refill will then be delivered to you as soon as possible. Do all gas bottles come in the same sizes? The size of rent free welding gas bottles varies depending on the type of gas you are purchasing. Argon gas and Argon 5-2 gas (for MIG welding) cylinders come in volumes of 0.6m3, 1.7m3, 4.0m3 and 8.7m3, as does Oxygen. Nitrogen, however, comes only in 0.6m3, 1.7m3 and 8.7m3 volumes and Helium in 0.5m3, 1.3m3 and 3.4m3 volumes. CO2 gas is available in 1.8kg, 6 kilograms, 22kg and 31-kilogram volumes.
