Buy Don’t Rent – Argon Gas Bottles

Buy your Own MIG Gas bottle With the start of the new year individuals, families and organisations often have new years resolutions or new areas of focus. This new year focus is a good thing and given the excesses of Christmas (and perhaps a little overspending), or the pressure from the boss to reduce costs, finding a saving in the new year is normally high on the priority list. One area we can help with is cheap argon. The rentfreegas model, as our name suggests, means you immediately stop paying rental the day you buy your own argon gas bottle. Now that you own your own bottle, with us, the only cost you will have is our cheap refills, no rental and no delivery. To buy your own mig gas bottle all you have to do is call or email us and we look after the rest. The first cost you pay includes the cost of the cylinder, and for a medium sized cylinder (the E size stands up to your waist) say the E size bottle this cost is $460. Thereafter, whenever you need more gas, call, text or email us and we deliver a refill (replacement) bottle full of gas and collect the empty one, and this refill cost for the E size is $160 (nothing more to pay). Prices for all Argon gas bottles (plus GST): Bottle Size First New Cost Refill Cost C bottle - (0.6m3) $220 $75 D bottle - (1.7m3) $360 $110 E bottle - (4m3) $460 $160 G bottle - (8.7m3) $560 $180 Depending on the number of welding gas bottles you purchase and how often you refill them, are the two key items that will help determine how much you can save. Argon Gas Bottles & Regulators

Argon Gas Bottle Valves There are many different types of regulators out there with many different suppliers. So there can be confusion about the cylinders, the valves, and what connections and regulators are required. We hope the information below helps reduce the confusion. All Australian approved Argon cylinders have a Type 10 valve and all regulators purchased in Australia should also have a type 10 valve connection. The only difference, for Industrial high-pressure cylinders, is that around 10-12 years ago the valve on the top of the bottles was changed from being vertical (i.e. the open valve was facing the sky), to being horizontal (pointing to the side). This change was made for safety reasons, specifically preventing moisture getting inside the cylinders. So as long as your cylinder is Australian approved as all Rentfreegas and Speedgas cylinders are, then you are ok. Regulators Regulators are used to control the flow of gas from the Argon cylinder to your job or application. The argon regulator allows you to work at a safe, and lower pressure, by reducing the high pressure inside the cylinder to the desired working pressure for welding. Below is an example of one of our regulators that includes a ball valve flow metre, allowing you to set the gas flow to anywhere between 0-25L per minute.             Some of the other gases and there valve outlets are: Gas Valve Type Argon Type 10 Helium Type 10 Oxygen Type 10 Acetylene Type 20 CO2 Type 30 Nitrogen Type 50 Air Type 60 Note: High-pressure Nitrogen cylinders have a Type 51 outlet connection. Check with your gas supplier about what valve type your cylinder comes with.

CO2 Beer & Pub Gas Prices, Sydney.

Sydney Prices for CO2 Pub Gas including delivery.  Our recent announcement regarding delivery of CO2 for pubs and clubs seeking to reduce their overheads by owning their own beer gas and post mix cylinders was met with great excitement and many questions were raised in regards to pub gases and food grade gas systems. First and foremost is how much does it cost?  The table below shows delivered prices in Sydney for both first purchase which includes a cylinder to keep forever and the refill swap price which is just a swap over of your empty bottle for a full one.   Beer / Pub Gas Prices (Delivered in Sydney)  Bottle Capacity New Full Bottle Refill Swap C - 1.8kg $200+GST $64+GST D - 6kg $290+GST $78+GST F - 22kg $325+GST $87+GST G - 30kg $400+GST $110+GST How does it work? This system works by you owning your own bottles and stopping the rental costs. So you need to purchase a bottle (cylinder) from us or Speedgas, as are not permitted to fill the big gas companies gas cylinders (like BOC, ALA, Linde, Supagas). After you purchase a bottle it is delivered to you full of gas, and then when it is empty we come out to collect it, and exchange it for a full bottle. This swap system works well for cafes and smaller pubs in the inner city of Sydney, that may have limited access, less room for storage, or need specific delivery times. What if I already have a Cellamix bottle? That's great, you already have most of what is required, just get rid of the cellamix bottle and purchase one of our gas cylinders.  You can start saving almost immediately and gee do the savings start to add up fast. Our gas bottles are rent free because you own them outright so unlike the Cellamix bottles that keep you paying monthly rental, our system saves you the monthly rental. Isn't Cellamix a special food grade pub [...]

What nitrogen gas bottle size do you need?

The rule of thumb when determining nitrogen gas bottle sizes is to buy the biggest bottle you can handle to limit the amount of refills you will need. There is now greater availability on the market for customers to choose the nitrogen gas bottle sizes they require, compared to when suppliers only offered the traditional D and G sizes. However, this increase in variety has made it confusing for some customers who do not know which nitrogen gas bottle sizes they require to ensure they can complete their jobs. Below we outline some things to consider to help you determine whether our C, D, E or G size nitrogen cylinders are best for you. How much volume do you require for your nitrogen gas bottle? The smallest nitrogen cylinder we stock here at Rent Free Gas is C, followed by D, E, and G as the largest. In comparison, a D cylinder has a volume of 1.7m3 and a weight of 20kg, whereas a G cylinder has a volume of 8.7m3 and a weight of 80kg. So if you can work out your flow mate required, or if you know the volume & pressure required of the tyre you would like to fill, the volumes of each cylinder above should help you. Shelf-life of nitrogen Since nitrogen is a non-reactive gas mixture and is usually filled in steel cylinders, your nitrogen gas bottle should, generally, have a shelf life of at least three years. This should be taken into consideration when deciding how much volume you actually require and which nitrogen gas bottle sizes you need. Do you need to move the cylinders? This is an important safety consideration as large nitrogen gas bottle sizes are difficult to handle and transport, weighing up to 80kg. If you need to travel from location to location to complete welding works, then it is important you have nitrogen gas bottle sizes that can be easily moved and will [...]

Speedgas Bottles – Outright Cylinder Purchase Made Easy

When Speedgas floated the concept of outright welding bottle ownership over 10 years ago, many in the industry thought they were bonkers. Customers on the other hand, sick of being shafted by the ever increasing rental squeeze welcomed the concept and within a short time, and after much fanfare on the many forums dedicated to welding and engineering projects, the Speedgas brand became part of the tradie vernacular. Over the years Speedgas products have expanded beyond Argon and Argon Mix gases to also include Oxygen, Carbon Dioxide, Nitrogen, Helium, Special Gas Mixtures and those awesome blue go fast cylinders full of Nitrous Oxide. There are now many smaller gas suppliers lurking in the shadows of Speedgas' success but what is it that the Speedgas brand has, or even does, that the others are lacking and thus preventing their own market success? Firstly, it is gas. Sounds simple enough but a gas supply company needs guaranteed and dependable supplies of bulk gas. Customers won't invest a couple of hundred dollars into a gas cylinder if the gas supply is flakey. Speedgas is a bulk gas supplier, that is another way of saying they own their own filling infrastructure and fill from an initial liquid state on site in their two manufacturing facilities based in Sydney. What do Speedgas do that makes them a beacon of shining light and bringer of joy to welders? Speedgas use bulk liquid supply which is vaporised on site then used to fill empty cylinders. Is an approved cylinder testing facility. Have Australian approval and Australian valves. Have been in the welding industry for over 20 years Have invested millions into plant, equipment and a sustainable cylinder refill system So what do the others do that is not the best long term practice? They may decant from G size cylinder packs supplied by the larger gas companies. The very ones that only offer rental cylinders. When the big boys pull the plug, your cylinder is worthless. They may export [...]
